I recently started reading the Kinsey Milhone series and this one so far is the best. On the first page, we learn that her client, Bobby, is dead and that she's never worked for a dead man before. The story moves quickly, and it was hard to put down.

Kensey does it well. Her dogged pursuit of a killer for the sake of the dead man who hired her while he was still alive develops into a nice mosaic of emotion and character. Having heard Grafton speak, and hearing her speak of the high value she places on loyalty and hard work it is easy to see these things coming out in her character. Unfortunately, this edition is abridged, and, as usual, an...more

Having heard Grafton speak, and hearing her speak of the high value she places on loyalty and hard work it is easy to see these things coming out in her character. Unfortunately, this edition is abridged, and, as usual, an abridgement does not conceal the conclusion as well as the full version. Also, as usual, Judy Kaye does a great job with many different voices.   hide
