What sets Duma Key apart from Mr. King's other books is the character development. To those who have read the book, you will agree with me when I say that the different set of characters are the best part of the book. They show the lives of these people behind the real story of the powerful paintings. I giess I can make this short since everyone else has said what is to said. Final note:...more

I always enjoy reading King, but while this book was a good one it just wasn't up to some of his classics like It or The Stand. The imagery was cool and crisp, the dialogue very real and exactly what you would think a person in the main character's shoes would think and say, but the end was predictable from nearly page 50.

Stephen King can put you on the edge of your seat with ease. So where did he go wrong here? It probably has a lot to do with the fact he stretched a reasonably interesting story out to three or four times the length it should have been. You'll be struggling to finish this, I guarantee it. It drags on and on.

I forced my way through most of this book. It's really boring. The last one quarter isn't that bad but I do agree with many other readers- a lot of unnecessary details need not be included. This is a rather disappointing read considering how popular Stephen King is- I expected much better. But anyway, it's still worth reading although it might not be very interesting.

One of the best Stephen King novels I've read in YEARS! He's BACK! If you are into a supernatural type of story that has heart and soul, this book is for you. I couldn't put it down and was sorry to see it end, I got that attached to the main character and one of his closest friends.

Great book. I just finished it and I'm already missing the characters. Creapy at times and a bit grusome but it wouldn't be Stephen King if it wasn't grusome.

A book you can't put down once you start reading. It is both surreal and humorous. Only Stephen King can write, "get me a towel, Rita, I think that last fart had a lump in it."

King is king of his genre. This book is not an exception. Worth every minute reading it. More fantasy story reveals almost at the end of book - before is just mystery.

My first book from Stephen King, I listened to it in a week. I had strange dreams every night. Thought it was well written from a master of emotions. After reading reviews from others, I realized it's one of the best from King. Long live King!
