Hannah truly is a fool, but I can't help but feel for her and her plight. I stick with her through the entire book and it seems quite factual, save for the feelings expressed for Elizabeth by Queen Mary. They seem quite contradictory... However, I LOVED the book! Gregory did a great job with this book. However, she contradicts many of the opinions given to someone about how Mary felt about...more

Again, Philippa Gregory. I like her novels because they focus on the lives surrounding the Tudor dynasty (from Henry VIII-Elizabeth I), which really need very little fiction added to make more interesting. This book is worth a read, if not for the fact that much of her writing is based loosely on fact, then at least for a good long car ride.

It's an interesting subject, mostly because there isn't a lot of focus on Queen Mary's four-year reign, but I just didn't get as attached to or...more

This is my favorite of Philippa Gregory's historical novels thus far because I feel it has the most character development. I really like the main character and I feel the focus is a little different.

Interesting read, different view on the life and times of Elizabeth. Phillipa Gregory is a master story teller.
