This is a very well written book. I happen to enjoy books and movies related to espionage and what have you. In this book it also sheds some light on the fact that even some of the country's top leaders can be corrupt, in a sense corruption has no bounds. However where there is corruption there will be someone there to find and solve the problem. In the end someone will have to pay for what they have done. In this book the main Character Mitch Rapp does just that. Can't wait until I get the "Prtoect and Defend" by Vince Flynn, a book focused around MItch Rapp...   hide

Premise of the story is that some higher-ups in the White House have made some morally questionable decisions, and the American public must never ever find out because we can't handle the truth. Yes, we can't handle government officials acting in an immoral manner. We've never had that happen here before. Ever. Author has some borderline-fascist moments, but it makes for some good escapism.

so this is definitely an airplane book. If you like thrillers and of-the-moment political intrigue, you will enjoy this a lot. Mitch Rapp is the protagonist/hero, and kind of an all around ass-kicking kind of a guy. I just gotta say I liked it a lot more than I expected--a really compelling read. I think I'll go buy the next one.

It was pretty good. Not sure I like the ending all that much. I wish it had a little more... character moments. It focuses a little too much on the "action" and the action isn't all that spectacular.
