One of my least favorite Shakespeare plays. This play is more philosophical than the tragedies at times, and is one of the few more suitable to reading than performing.

Fascinating play about the Trojan War, although the intrigue lies in the fact that this is neither comedy or tragedy—it’s both. A unique play in Shakespeare’s canon, especially considering his interest in the Iliad (as seen in other plays), but I’m glad that I’m done with it. :)

I really didn't like this one. It was a little to philosophical for me to enjoy.

The interception of a Shakespeare play involving the Trojan War is an interesting idea in itself. But....sooooo boring. I must be a failed English Lit major for finding it so tiresome and a drag.

This is from back when I was going through a Trojan War phase. The first Shakespeare I ever read. It was great, and terrible, and made me cry.

You really have to be passionate about Shakespeare to love his work. This book was all over the place and difficult to keep together as a complete storyline. It boasts one of his most difficult pieces and whoever said that was not wrong. I wouldn't recommend for light reading.

This play was very funny, especially when Thersites is explaining why everyone is a fool. There is one very large disappointment though. (Spoilers follow.) The story ends with the death of Hector! Not Troilus, not Cressida, nor Diomedes! This would not be so terrible, but this is the exact reason that I dislike the Iliad. It ended not with Achilles' death, but with Hector's and I could not...more
