There are such a wide range of characters that it is hard to truly get to know all of them, and Brutus loses a lot of his sympathy we held for him towards the end of the play. The ending was dragged on a bit too long, also. On the positive side? A great, troubled protagonist in Brutus. Here's a man who would do anything for the people, and when he does what he thinks is best, the people rise to kill him. An underappreciated tragic hero, I'd say! Plus Shakespeare puts in his thoughts on politics and predestination, resulting in some great lines.
