For so many reasons, the best book I have read in a very long time. The narrative is compelling, the descriptions are vivid, the characters are sympathetic, the whole hangs together as though the writing is effortless. I didn't want the book to end.
I finished this book with a mix of emotions...heartbreak and pain, of what the women go through, and admiration of their hope and how they get out of the troubled life situation....with heroism, knowing that death will come
This has to be one of the best books I've ever read! A heartbreaking story of 2 women. I've just finished reading, with mixed emotions of hurt, pity and also of admiration of the courage finally found. All I can say is WOW!!!!
