I had such a blast reading this book. The lead character -- a 72 year old former classical pianist -- is one of the most original creations I've come across in a long time. The author depicts family relationships at their most brutal -- sometimes it's brutally funny, and sometimes it's completely shocking. Always, it feels very, very true. It's also very moving, and I found myself shedding a tear or two at several points. I couldn't put it down. I enjoyed every moment I spent in this world, and I highly recommend it.   hide
