Dark, poignant, and echoing with truth, Witch Child will stay with you for many nights. In a voice so real it's chilling, Celia Rees tells the story of a young English girl who sails to the American colonies to escape the witch hunts in Europe. What happens there isn't much better.

I have it, but can't find it. Definitely worth a read. If I remember correctly at times it seems boring, but carry on reading it. You'll love it. The 2nd isn't what I expected it to be, don't have too high hopes for sourceressOne of the best books I've read. For a while I actually thought it was true! While i found this story to be interesting, it is not true. i hate how people think something true and tell other people it is true when the description says fiction. another hint, you find it in the fiction section of your library. i also thought that the book borrowed liberally from "The Crucible" over all a quick interesting, if not original, diversion for the afternoon

Great book, easy read and meant for younger audience but still an interesting first person account of the very beginning of the Puritan occupation. The end is not surprising but it leaves you very sympathetic not only toward the main character but also those close to her.
