Disappointed with the ending to be truthful. Everything leading up to it was magnificent. I just felt the way I usually do with the ending of a particularly long adventure, the author just got towards the end and ran out of steam. He knew where he was going with the story, but there were too many loose ends for me!

Since their introduction, some people in the story are so pristinely ungifted that magic simply does not exist for them. I was confused when Richards brother, the "healer" manipulated the lines of life to heal Cara... If he was a Pillar of Creation then surely he would not have been able to affect these lines. Terry did the exact same thing at the end of the book. Those pristinely ungifted should not have heard Richards call and the solution should not have applied to them!
Rant over, enjoyed the buildup but the end let it down.
