The first book in the series is okay. I read it because I met the author, and he seemed extremely nice, and this guy is finishing my favorite fantasy series, The Wheel of Time. Now, I'm seriously having doubts about finishing my coveted Robert Jordan books.
Honestly, where can I find an author who writes awesome fantasy books but doesn't feel the need to write obvious characters and fill up 760 pages with their superfluous conflicts?
Also, I'm not too enthused with this guy's "Dumbledore being gay" post. While I appreciate his honesty, tact and understanding of reality, his beliefs are quite elitist and show that he believes homosexuals to be a lesser privileged order of humans. I don't want to read authors who have seriously flawed reasoning.
