Funny, but there were some slow spots, and I was terribly disappointed that he hiked so little of the AT after all.

I enjoy most of Bryson's work, but this is really the best.

A good read. Very funny. I liked the accounts of things that happened on his trip. Some annoyances: environmental sermonizing of questionable scientific value and some sharp humor at the expense of poor people of the mountains and the countryside. But I enjoyed this book a lot and finished it very quickly.
