I like the diversified advice given in this book.  Much of it is common sense, but these days, lots of folks could use some.

I really liked thinking about my values and spending money based on them, I'd rather have life experiences then lots of nice stuff. ie: Travel and dinners with friends. I bought a filing cabinet and all of our documents have a unique folder and it's easy to find.

If you only have time to read one financial book, read "The Automatic Millionaire." "Smart Couples" deals mainly with the organization of financial planning, which is useful in itself, but I think this book is not as purposeful as Bach's "Automatic Millionaire."
