Such a touching book. I'm sorry now that I took so long to read it and yet, it was probably an appropriate time as my father-in-law just passed away in August after a long debilitating illness. Like Morrie, he was also a teacher and a person who thought about love and life. Unfortunately for a long time before his death he wasn't able to talk much. As I read this book I thought...more

While I seem terminally "unhip" occasionally I do decide to slide back into a 21st Century experience. As it seems everyone and their grandmother has read Tuesdays With Morrie I thought, "Why not?" The book is terribly hokey and I must express my confusion at everyone who raved about this but accuse The Secret of being nothing more than a book of quotes. After all, Tuesdays is really nothing more...more

As we get older, we have no choice but to start dealing the loss of the loved one. if you are fortunate, you can "smoothed in" the process: the distant relative, friend of a friend of a friend. Eventually, there will one loss that hit hard. Once you get over it, you get better coping with it, you feel for others, and you know how to console yourself or your friends. What I loved the most about...more

Very touching and inspiring. Makes one realize how we sadly choose to die and give up even when we are ensured of a long life.Morrie was one such soul who chooses to live each minute to the fullest even when he knows that his days are numbered as the clock ticks away every deadly second of his. It made me realize that we tend to give up with every minor issue that befalls us. We manage to let...more

After complaining about the excessive philosophizing in my last read Shantaram, I went ahead and read Mitch Albom’s Tuesdays with Morrie. But it was not as bad because I was expecting wise words and truisms. The book was a quick and easy read and the life’s philosophies from the mind of a dying old man were believable and acceptable. Fortunately the book did not get overwhelming at any point....more

With the multitude of books that reach out to people’s emotions, Tuesday with Morrie is the one book that really got to me. In a post-modern world where everything happens in an instant, we become lost in a fast-paced lifestyle and we stop to care. We are always in a hurry that we never think of stopping and appreciating what is around us. This book puts us in our place. It tells us to stop...more

Secara garis besarnya, buku...more

I understand why this book was on the NY's Best Sellers list for 4 consecutive years, but I will say that I wasn't as impressed by it as others. Mitch Albom is more of a journalistic writer (obviously, since that was what he did/does for a living) than an author, and his writing is evidence of that. His writing is pretty void of fluff and flowers, which is great for people who perhaps don't...more

TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE –Mitch Albom This book is all about life and death. It teaches us some morals which are quite philosophical. The author simply teaches us a lesson just before death. He tells us what actually should be done before dying. This book tells us about the true meaning of life. The story line is that there is a teacher, a real teacher whom a pupil (the...more

"Tuesdays With Morrie" is the heartwarming story of Albom's relationship with his college mentor, Morrie Schwartz, with whom Albom has lost touch for 16 years. Upon seeing him on the "Nightline" program - talking to Ted Koppel about what it was like to die from Lou Gehrig's disease - Albom was both horrified and ashamed. He called his old teacher, flew to Boston for a reunion, and began a series...more
