With its easy form and simple dialogue, it is a quick read. It is a good story that reflects what it means to have a mentor and learn from those who came before us.

I consider this book overrated. Good maybe but not for me. I put it down after reading the first chapter.

I understand why this book was on the NY's Best Sellers list for 4 consecutive years, but I will say that I wasn't as impressed by it as others. Mitch Albom is more of a journalistic writer (obviously, since that was what he did/does for a living) than an author, and his writing is evidence of that. Mitch Albom is more of a journalistic writer (obviously, since that was what he did/does for a living) than an author, and his writing is evidence of that. His writing is pretty void of fluff and flowers, which is great for people who perhaps don't like reading novels. It's a simple read that you can get through in just a day or two - not to mention, it's a true story that will touch your heart and will hopefully make you think about the way you're living.   hide
