Couldn't help but think if they hadn't kept the secret none of the other bad stuff would have happened.  Of course then there wouldn't be a book!

Sounded like a great story line. I thought the beginning opened up a lot of cool conflicts to explore, however in the end the story was wrapped up too neatly with some pretty implausible parts. All in all, pretty benign.

A great mistery noevel! This story line is captivating and keeps the reader guessing. This not-so-predictable mystery novel is so believable because it could easily happen. Secrets at every turn of the page between every different character allow the reader to make connections on their own but never reveal anything because while the reader may know what secrets are being held from which...more
 A great mistery noevel! This story line is captivating and keeps the reader guessing. This not-so-predictable mystery novel is so believable because it could easily happen. Secrets at every turn of the page between every different character allow the reader to make connections on their own but never reveal anything because while the reader may know what secrets are being held from which character, they have no idea what secrets are being kept from them! The reader is just as much part of the mystery as the accident that causes the sprial of lies in the beginning of the book.   hide

Reading the back of this book grabbed my attention because of the moral dilemma the protagonist would face. I felt that the daughter experienced more turmoil over the lie than the mother. Actually, the twists and turns kept me turning the pages, but the conclusion left me a little disappointed. I really didn't feel that the author did a good job of making the reader feel any amount of relief...more

I could imagine the lie initially, but not ongoing, so hard to believe the full story as it progressed.
