Was not a big fan...but was interested in his struggles. Too bad most of his life was drinking, but he did overcome and has set up facilities where others can be helped. Found it curious how much of a womanizer he was, it may have been part of that time that men thought that way. I felt he was quite full of himself as he expected his so called girlfriends to deal with his carrying on and put...more

I have to say I loved the book. Even if you are not a huge Clapton fan and enjoy reading along with Classic Rock and roll you would still enjoy the book. He had so many musical ties to bands, and people that you would never envision him being friends with. To name a few members of CSNY, Steve Winwood, Roger Waters, B.B King, Jimi Hendrix, the Allman Bro.. this guy is truly amazing and his book...more

Pretty honest account of a great musicians life. Fascinating and weird life. I'm surprised he is still alive!

The book was pretty good. I wish he went into more details about his life. I felt the book was a tribute to all the people he was around in his lifetime. There was so much name dropping I couldn't keep up. Its sad about his son and how he died. I literally said OMG out loud after reading that. Its ironic he had all girls. All in all the book was pretty good.

Best Autobiography I have encountered for a musician. Honest and forthright. Reminds us that it is never too late to find happiness and meaning.

I really enjoyed reading about Clapton's life and the people he played with throughout his career. This book takes you to the birth place of rock n roll during a time when all the great artists traveled in the same circles. Personally I don't know how he survived those early years with all the drugs and booze. I praise him for turning his life around and raising a family.

For the most part, it's the same old story...just a different person. It seems every rock star caves in to drugs and alcohol to the point where it ruins their lives. The actual circumstances, of course, are different (as they are with every individual). But, the difference in Clapton's case is that he doesn't actually lose his life. Instead, he recognizes the seriousness of...more
