Interesting, less the history of how this happened and more of a rant against the anti-intellectualism in America...a much needed rant.

A sardonic, if somewhat jumpy, look at another cause of this nation's fall from the heights, this one from the bottom up. If you don't already believe the thesis behind this book; read it; and if you do, read it anyway. A non-PC attempt at a wake-up call this nation really needs.

The book details how Americans have devolved intellectually using examples and humor (although the present situation is anything but humorous). A must read. Conservatards beware.

Heard the author on public radio and was intrigued by the title. Is he really right that more people vote for the American Idol winner than vote in presidential primaries?
