I really enjoyed this book. A little too much detail in the vehicles at times, and didn't develop a lot of relationship with the characters- but a good "popcorn" book.

If you REALLY want to know what desert warfare during WWII was like read this book. There is no John Wayne bravado and sentimentality here, pure, raw, and as gritty as the sands through which they travelled this book is magnificent in its rendering of the human.

I tried reading Pressfield's 'Gates of Fire' a while back, and didn't get to the end - not a very readable book. 'Killing Rommel' is the exact opposite, I had trouble putting it down. An excellent WW2.

Met Rommel's son in Stuttgart Germany. This is a very good story about a small part of the North African campaign.
