Nothing particularly revelatory here; just a very sincere account of a day in the life (with other related stories here and there) of an animal surgeon, with all the joy and heartache one would expect. Enjoyed it but wasn't overwhelmed.
A very quirky view on veterinarian medicine. I have been reading on my breaks at work and found myself bursting out laughing which got some stares. I do however have to give the down fall of this book. As I have worked in an animal clinic before, I understand it & I got the jokes but if your reading this & not familiar to the field then the medical terms and some of the jests may be lost to you.
It was a great book to read, nice to see the viewpoint of a vet - most seem distant and distracted in the office. Nice to see that they really do care. I literally laughed and cried through this book, it touched too close to home with the loss of our family dog with a similar ailment. I would love to see more books from this author.
Interesting read for the animal lover in all of us. Dr. Nick Trout lets us all in on a single day in his hectic life as an animal surgeon. This book is filled with anecdotes and also good information on the background of the veterinary practice.
enjoyable read, touches on issues which I thought should be expanded in a more thought-provoking way.
has several good stories for animal lovers.
has some mention of veterinary industry problems (compensation, insurance, student debt).
