'love it! the index is my favorite part! If you want to make a recipe with a specific ingredient (like black beans), turn to the index & it'll list every page & recipe that involves the ingredient!

this was a great book for me to be introduced to serious cooking...and i felt comfortable to have the vegan options so available...i very much enjoyed it...***

debbie knows how to make delicious food. this is my kitchen bible. my only complaint is that many of the more complex recipes require hard to find and/or expensive ingredients. alas, the results are beautiful and delish!

i'm not a vegetarian, but this is one of my most-used and most marked-up cookbooks. everything I have made has been at least good, and usually wonderful. I have used techniques and tips I learned from this book for years. This and Mark Bittmans _How to Cook Everything_ are the only cookbooks you really need. Great wedding present.

I'm a member of a food coop (in Minnesota) and eat vegetarian 3-4 days a week. Having said that I can't really recommend this book. Too many recipes with too many ingredients with too many sauces/salsas that have to be made along with the main part of the recipe in order to make the food palatable, plus too few recipes for everyday use. Maybe if I had all day to cook and lived in California where...more
