Another graduation gift and reminder that we all make mistakes and are susceptible to overconfidence. Unless, of course, you are one of the lucky few who are correctly calibrated. Fun read, I recommend.

What a fascinating read! Chock full of answers to life's confounding questions, like "why on Earth did I ever buy that [insert stupid purchase]?"

A fun little vacation read on common human errors and why we continue to commit them. I suggest all drivers who eat, smoke, text or talk on the telephone while operating a vehicle refer to the section on multi-tasking. Hallinan covers it all - skimming, frame of mind, multi-tasking, why you are average but I am not - worth the read.

Some interesting ideas and insights, but the book lacks a story line to bring these sections together. The 35-page bibliography could be helpful if you want to go deeper on some of the topics.

I liked it, but it felt anecdotal without giving broad patterns, which was what I was hoping for. Definitely worth the read if you're interested in how the brain works.

This book is what the title implies: a book on why we make mistakes. It differs from the more recent "You Are Not So Smart" because it focuses on clear mistakes. It's an easy read and worthwhile for anyone trying to improve himself.
