His suggestions that the nation needs to refocus on economic fairness, criminal justice, and a much more defensible foreign policy is refreshing, but -- as he mentions -- some tough choices need to be made to promote his ideas.I would say that Part 2 of the book is the best section of the book, while Part 1 falls somewhat short. Part 1 is mostly autobiographical information, which is interesting, but not very germane to the topic of the book. Mr. Webb also dabbles into constitutional issues where he falls short in his analysis. I would remind him that prayers should not be allowed in public schools and symbols to a god should not be allowed in Congress because the U.S. government must represent all the people and this is not a theocracy. Besides this shortcoming, Mr. Webb is insightful and a good storyteller.
