Light easy read, fun adventure story. Positive elements include characters risking their own lives for others, clean language. Negative elements include a forged letter by Artemis pretending to be his mother, in order to get out of school.
I liked the book, but there's still something about Colfer's style that just doesn't gel with me. I mean, I like how this series isn't just a Potter knock off, and I dig the Ludlum-esque take on an adolescent male character...still, though, there's just something about his style that doesn't hook me as much as it could. A good read, though; just don't expect it to knock your socks off.
Artemis does it again! I read this book without reading the first book, and although I was confused about the whole "faerie kidnapping" I thought Eion Colfer did a great job explaining the life of underground. I recommend this book to anyone, and is an enjoyable read.
This one does a good job of showing Artemis in a new light, deep down he is really quite caring and such and as a result of his family's history one can see how he was able to be the way he is. The suspense and action is there and the goodness of the fairy magical stuff is amazing. I love how this one turned out as well.
