While this book had lots of interesting tidbits about Cousteau and friends and their early uses of the aqualung, it was tough to get around the writing style. Cousteau jumps around a lot and it happens so suddenly, I found myself having to reread passages to figure out where I lost track of the story. Probably more interesting if you're into diving, which I am not.

I've always been fascinated by marine biology and this book transported me straight to the depths of the ocean with its descriptions of Cousteau's underwater adventures.

The first SCUBA dive was also a lobster hunt.  Want to know more?  This is a quick, very enjoyable read.

A diver friend loaned me an original 1958 edition. I stepped in happily, having grown up with his long-running 1960's television series. I felt like I was sitting on his knee listening to his voice telling me his story. In all, a delight I'm still decompressing from.
