This book really chronicles Brother Andrew's desire to reach the persecuted church and made me feel so grateful for the freedom that I have to worship here in the US. It also made be much more aware of the persecuted church and the need to pray for them and continue to find ways for God to use us to support them. (It really also made me reflect on what I would do and how I would act if I ever found myself in such a closed situation. How would I live out my faith when it's not so easy?) Great book with a Godly message and Biblical challenge.   hide

I find this book convicting me in ways I've never been before...and I love that it tells stories about Christians that are BEING persecuted. I've read about martyrs, but never about people I can still help in some way. Amazing that one man was able to do so much!

This book is an autobiography of Brother Andrew and he explains his journies to the church body in countries such as Russia, China, Yugoslavia to name a few struggle to stay alive. Of course, he runs into conflicts as going through inspections, questionings by policemen just a few without spoiling the book....more

Prayer, devotion, faithfulness, dedication to God. If there is one solid point this book has taught me it's that faithfulness in God will bring you through anything.
