more Growing up in Kansas, there certainly are valid points in this book which offer some interesting context around the voting mentality of midwesterns, primarily rural folks who are bitter. That said, I think there are some generalizations and assumptions made which do not have as much to do with Kansans being bitter and voting on values rather than not having a mixed cultures, ethnicities and views which gives them a broader sense of different points of view. I do agree that there was an over-saturation of media around the pro-life Wichita hysteria of the 90s, which could have contributed to some misguided thinking, but in recent years I think the general Kansas voter is becoming more in tuned with issues extending away from voting on mere values. Overall, an interesting read which I can see some valid points.
