I found this book, while short, a struggle to read. The topic of having to carry out a death sentence, basically and struggling with your own historic demons made this book question my own values and how I viewed prisoners and their deaths during times of conflict.

Eli writes with finesse. You can feel the anguish of Elisha as he torments for the task ahead. Dawn is shortly at hand bringing with it an unquiet ending.

Very moving, although my favorite of his continues to be Night. Read it again this summer after many years - it was even better than I remembered it.

This is a narrative inside the mind of a terrorist in Israel. Interesting, but hard for high school students to follow. It is fiction although Night is true.
