One of my favorites of all times. Never tire of it. It is a classic and poignant study of society in America. Little Scout and her brother discover what a remarkable father they have, the reader is drawn into the intrigue and life of a small southern town with all its civil rights issues laid bare. Wonderful! Masterful. Please read it again and again like I do. I always find a new angle to appreciate.   hide

Love the way this written from the point of view of a child. Very similar from that point of view to "Four Fires" by Bryce Courteney which I would also hugely recommend. Brilliant view into the "Deep South" of the mid 30's with an interesting twist in the last few pages.   hide
