Terry Goodkind has a really good writing style.  Imaginative and uses many staples of classic fantasy in a fresh new way.

I also had a paperback edition personally signed when Terry randomly stopped into the tiny bookstore I used to work at:)

cheesy and predictable. never bothered looking at any of the rest of them. 

best dialogue in the book:

"Zed, where'd you get that sword?"
"In my Cabinet of course!"
"I've seen your cabinet, nothing in there but pots and such!"
"Not THAT...in my wizards cabinet!"

...not verbatim...but seriously close enough. yikes.
