The Day of the Triffids (Modern Library)

A fantastic (if a little brisk) detailing of the fragility of modern society. If you're a fan of apocalypic (zombie or otherwise) stories, or science-run-amok yarns like Jurassic Park, you'll probably get a big kick out of this. It's a everything speculative fiction ought to be.

Silly sci-fi creatures but a very fun read nonetheless. Post apocalyptic settings are always fun to contemplate and get lost in, especially when killer plants are involved.

A classic that stands the test of time. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Interesting end of the world story, once you get past some of the old fashioned, sexist ideas.

Have no idea why this book ranked so highly in the Top 100 Sci-Fi books list. The story's nothing special. The triffids are an unnecessary plot device. I see no point in them at all unless they are suppose to symbolise some environmental agenda. Overall, after the excellent "Th Chrysalids", this books was a real letdown for me from this author.

This was a great SciFi book about flesh eating plants taking over the world. It is good.
