Interesting, yet admit tingly bias view of history. Kung admits right in the beginning that this is his view and he has suffered through the inquisition. At the same time it is a very loving view of the Church with a hope for constant reform and change.

A facinating retelling of church history from a devout catholic who is asking some interesting questions about the present church's state. He is a bit of a radical, but a seasoned theologian who was close to Pope John and part of the team that developed the Vatican Two in the 60's and 70's.
