An interesting overview of the history of Islamic terrorist operations against the US and our government's attempts to cope. I particularly enjoyed the chapters that traced the intellectual roots of terrorist ideology and the biographical section on Osama bin Laden.

Do Not read if you're a politically-correct nerd

enlightening, very elaborately written. a must read for all who are interested in extremist terrorism and steps taken before and after 9/11 by the U.S. admins.

Some of the best background on Islamic extremism post 9/11 that you can find. It's thorough, intriguing, and provides a great explanation for what's going on in these people's minds, and how they got there. Though a bit plodding in some parts, it's a solid chunk of information overall and I'd recommend it to anybody who's looking to understand how we got to where we are.
