An interesting plot...and more so because it was based on a real life situation. Heartbreaking and joyful.

A very interesting story about a young girl's life the summer of 1964. Lots of good dialogue and interesting characters. The mom in the iron lung is one of the more interesting characters as well as her caregiver but the daughter steals the story.

Read it while sitting next to Elizabeth Berg on a flight out of Las Vegas. Yes, did not realize it was her even though she asked how I liked the book. Got to the end the next day and saw the author's picture. Almost fainted - her hair was now blonde.

Good book..about a mom, who needed an iron lung to survive, raise a daughter as a single parent. It was set in the civil rights period in the south. She was out on a date at a restaurant and was kicked out because of her disability.....

Too superficial. Plot goes very quickly with few suprises. Very fast summer read - but you can do better...

This was a great book about the human spirit to overcome adversity in the world and how to accept where we are and the way we are with grace and dignity.
