Jon Meacham uses hundreds of letters to illustrate this political friendship. It is a very insightful and readable book. A great read!

I was a child when Mr. Churchill passed away and remember the television coverage of the event. I now have a better understanding why he is sometimes referred to as "The Man of the Century." Pretty interesting but sort of a choppy style to the book. Sort of like Winston said, blah, blah and then Franklin blah, blah.

Excellent book. The first chapter is hard to follow because the author bounces between time frames and people. But after that a great story of the developing friendship between the two world leaders and the effect Stalin had on it. Great quote: Churchill to Stalin: “this must be a great satisfaction to you to be in Berlin.” Stalin: “Czar Alexander got to Paris.”

Pretty good. A lot of common knowledge here, but clearly a lot of research went into the book. The more I read about FDR, the more I dislike him. On the other hand, Winston Churchill, flaws and all was one of the greatest men who ever lived.
