Only for those who like to gossip and hear other peoples dirty laundry. Gives some insight in the life and times in Iran. But, beyond that, the authour should be ashamed.

I read this book last summer. I liked it more for the Persian literature it introduced me to. I thought that it was good for her to open up about her personal experiences, especially coming from a culture that discourages talking about private matters. If people keep silent about things all the time, then very bad problems such as the problem of sexual abuse she wrote about will be ignored and...more

When I read Reading Lolita in Tehran, I remember puzzling about what the motivator was that kept Ms. Nafisi moving forward under her circumstances. This book explained a little more why Azar Nafisi was so driven. Her story is a sad happy one. She overcame great obstacles and I enjoyed her story.
