an excellent history of the Motown label with great stories of Diana Ross (and her extreme self-love), Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye et al Posner is a great writer

This book is fantastic. Even though the stories behind this music and the success of Motown are disturbing and upsetting, it makes me appreciate the music even more and those that worked so hard to make Motown such a permanent institution in American music.
