Though I don't lean towards the political aspect of history I still found this book to be an exhaustive and unusual collection of 19th Century history. I found most of this book extremely insightful - I poured throught the socio-economic parts but unfortunately, plodded through parliament.

full of interesting facts such as The London Bridge was once adorned with the severed heads of criminals, 'parboiled and dipped in tar to preserve them'.
