An almost poignant, wistful look at the life of the young New York socialite Grady McNeil, Clyde Manzer's "butterfly in a candy bag" . You know from the start that her summer is fated to end badly. You're just reading to find out how bably.

technically i didn't finish this one. life's too short to read a book you're not into (as my mother says). i think if i was 17 again i'd love it but, now at 28, grady seems so ridiculous.

Presently my favorite book EVER.
