An excellent look at the world rationally. The book explains how people think and act rationally even if we feel otherwise. Rational behaviour exists in every human act, whether it is crime, divorce or buying services.

I liked it, but i thought it's really weird how half of the studies he discusses and authors that he mentions are discussed at length in Predictably Irrational by Dan Ariely. i don't know how that happened.so, since I read Predictably Irrational first, I felt like I've heard most of this before. So, just pick one of these books, not both.

An extension of his earlier book about how many of society's phenomenon can be explained by economic theory. A little dry- I thought his first book Undercover Economist was better.

Definitely recommended. I mean, not a great book, but worth your time, particularly if you haven't already read much of the recent wave of popular economics books since Freakonomics.

Tim Harford takes on more uncomfortable topics like STDs, gambling, divorce, racism, sexism, etc. His basic premise is that people are rational in everything, however illogical it might seem and he supports it througout the text. There is a...more

Brilliantly clever book which explains social phenomenon (marriage, divorce, racism, even blow jobs!) through economics. I'm still referring back to it.
