It doesn't matter whether you're young or young at heart. Our world is not getting better. Things are happening now and our economy is being hit hard. What that means for the young people is that your going to be fighting harder to get a job, as you get older. Its going to be harder to buy things that you take for granted now. There's going to be a man step up and he will seem to have all the answers. He will get the Palestinians to sign a 7 year Peace Treaty with the Israelies. I strongly believe that these things will happen and that the Rapture (when people vanish) will happen. This book series also comes in a Kids series that is even better (and shorter volumes) than the adult series. What the book (s)can tell you will be worth every penny the book cost. Or read it for free from your local library. If they don't have it write me with the library address and I'll send them some of the books. If you listen to the message of the book, it will save you from making a collisal mistake when it happens. Mindy   hide

Slow start, riveting by the end.

I read all of the Left Behind series. They are easy, easy reading. Sometimes a bit to repeatitive when you start the next book. They are not completely biblical. OK, so the writing is on par with low-end popular novels (I'm thinking Clive Cussler, here). Characters lack any real depth, the love-story arcs are contrived, and all the female characters are whiney, bitchy, or just plain annoying. These books were very suspenseful, compelling, and exciting in parts. La Haye and Jenkins know the mechanics of thrillers, and how to draw the reader in. My position is that these books should be read as fiction, but they made me think about where would we stand should the events foretold in Revelation occur within our own lifetimes? I don't know if anyone outside of Christian circles would read these novels, though, since the bulk of the reviews I have read elsewhere are not that positive.   hide

Read all 16 books - Took me 3 months reading non stop, but it was worth it. If you love reading and want to know how it will be in the last days of the Earth. I strongly recommend this to everyone. You'll never be the same again. This will change your entire life and how you look at life. I'd rather live life as if there is a God and find out there isn't. Than to live life...more

I have read this entire series a couple of times actually, the only thing I can say is that after reading them, you TRULY want to make sure your life is in order, because I know I don't want to be left behind and I don't want any of my friends and loved ones left behind. I got to meet Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins at a book signing and night with them at our church when the last book came out, it was the fastest 2 hours ever.   hide

This is a work of fiction and I understand that. Many christians have different beliefs on this matter, but this fictional work puts scripture in all the right places with imaginary characters. A must read and one of my favorites. I have read the entire series except for the prequels and you will be emersed in the story from the first time you open the first book.

This was such a thought provoking book. Really makes you realize that we never know when Jesus is coming back, so we better live right and do the things we want to do now. A hug is so much better than yelling (even though yelling does happen...too much here). Sitting and watching a movie with the kids or playing a game as a family is better than everyone being in a different room doing...more
