My favorite buy Bukowski...great short stories. This was unlike any of his other writting, which can get somewhat repetitive. This is much more "fiction" than any other fiction I've read by him! No Henry Chinaski here!!

So far my favorite Bukowski book, the short stories in here are off-the-wall brilliant. Read it as fast as you can, and then read it again!

At first I was surprised at the "tenderness" of this book- if you can ever describe Bukowski's writing tender. 90% of the book seems toned down compared to other collections of his. Hilarious and twisted short stories written by The Drunkard Bukowski. No matter how vulgar or tasteless to some, always beautifully melancholy and from the heart to me. This goes along with "Notes Of A Dirty Old Man" and "Tales of Ordinary Madness".

Bukowski has a this way of making you want to join him at the bar, spend days on end alone and pushing your limits creatively and destructively.
