Terse and utterly merciless - contains refutations of all the common (and some of the uncommon) arguments for the existence of the Judeo-Christian deity.

This is probably the best and most thorough philosophical defense of atheism I've ever read. Martin does an excellent job of taking both the traditional and contemporary arguments for God's existence to task. This is an advanced philosophy book that takes on the analytic defense of theism. Well worth a read, but if you're looking for an introduction to atheist philosophy this probably is not the book to start with.   hide
