This has been on my list since Bonnie first recommended it, and its number finally came up. Well worth the wait, it's the memoir of a young woman, raised Jewish, who converts to Christianity. Really, really good: Winner explains her struggle to find a place where she belongs in Christianity, especially when so much of Judaism is still so important to her. A gentle reminder that finding the path to the divine that works for you is never, never an easy endeavor.   hide

A Reform Jewish girl turns Orthodox Jew turns Episcopalian. It is a complex book about love and devotion for God, chasing God written by a desperate seeker, a broken sinner and an intelligent, intellectual young girl. I loved every single word and was sad when this love story ended and I can almost say with certainty she will end up Catholic someday. I look forward to that day.

Reads like fiction and is a really interesting insight to one woman's faith.

No one writes like Lauren Winner. She is open and sincere letting us into her life and all the while helping us understand greater things like religion, spirituality and God.
