It's fun to re-read these GN's that came out when I was younger. I originally read this back in 1989. And I'm anxious to see how my reaction to the story will be different now that I'm older. The thing that really impressed me most when I was about 14 was the artwork. It's still great but I think I'll take away something different this time reading it...

a very interesting graphic novel.. i love how it intermingles certain familiar mainstream comic book characters into the storyline without blatanly saying it out loud. very cool.

I thought this was one of Gaiman's more disappointing stories. The art is very nice, but not always appropriate for the story. I would recommend reading just about anything else he has written before settling on this one.

I really love this comic to pieces, the artwork is immense and the story really flows, it even brought a wee tear to my eye at the end. if you like this than check out the Arkham Asylum, it basically has batman in the asylum going a bit batty! great story, dark and twisted. love it

For me as a selfish bugger, one of the best, beautifully illustrated. This is a story within many stories, the "girls" are too fabulous for words and their journey - amazing. I grew up with this stuff. If you are new to Mr G then this could be a good intro but I strongly suggest a big course in the Sand Man x
