The White Lioness (Kurt Wallander Mysteries)

excellent procedural thriller/mystery set in rural Sweden and with sub-plot in South Africa around the time of Nelson Mandela's release. The lead detective is a compelling, neurotic loner - with integrity. The story moves fast; and the writing is excellent.

Me gustó. Tercera novela de la serie Wallander. Policiaca con datos politicos actuales y geograficamente bien detallada.

Very enjoyable and gripping. In the middle i felt this wasn't quite the Wallender i knew but then i'm reading them out of order so what do i know?

pas mal, toujours un peu long et répétitif mais bon découpage du suspens

I found this book to be a slog, but it was well worth it. Once again Wallander is involved with international intrigue simply by doing his job. Interesting incorporation of South African politics and history. I found this book a bit of a slog, but it was worth it. Once again Wallander ends up in international intrigue just by doing his job.

Una altre bon llibre de Mankell sobre l'inspector Wallander. De tots els que he llegit, potser és el que més ensenya el Wallander persona, el seu món interior, i la seva forma de veure la vida. La novela gira al voltant d'una conspiració a Sudàfrica (novela política d'alt nivell) que té ramificacions a Suècia. Una altre bon llibre de Mankell sobre l'inspector Wallander. De tots els que he llegit, potser és el que més ensenya el Wallander persona, el seu món interior, i la seva forma de veure la vida. La novela gira al voltant d'una conspiració a Sudàfrica (novela política d'alt nivell) que té ramificacions a Suècia. La història a Suècia, que és la que afecta directament Wallander, té molta força i un tram final del llibre absolutament apassionant. En canvi, la trama política fa perdre força al llibre, són els moments més fluixos, i no acaba d'enganxar amb el ritme de la narració. De totes maneres, al final no hi ha qui es desenganxi, i la història al voltant de Wallander i la seva família és molt emotiva i humana, més enllà del fet policíac. Una altra bona estona!!!   hide
