Dyer provides little to no insight into the great world of artistic photography. I get it--a lot of famous photographers used similar subject matter...no sense in writing (poorly as well) an entire book about it!

For anyone interested in photography but intimidated by the thought of delving in the form's history, Geoff Dyer provides an engaging exploration by giving readers a new way of seeing.
