I used to own this book but Evie borrowed it so long ago that I'm afraid the statute of limitations is running out.

A bit too theoretical for me, reads as a text book, not a narrative. Would refer to it but not read it start to finsh.

An engaging book worth the time of anyone interested in America's pre-European history.

Excellent book! Engaging reading! The ideas, which are supported by archeological and anthropological evidence, challenge the commonly accepted views of the status of the Americas before Columbus. The most impressive idea is that there is significant evidence that the world's oldest known civilization existed in what is now Peru!

Great reading, lots of facts, covers most of the Americas and gives a scientific point of view and at the same time, Mann manages to make it light and easy for the layman

An outstanding book both in style and content. Indeed, Pre-Colombian history was really a blind spot for me, not only was I ignorant of the history itself, I was ignorant about the meta-fact that there was so much to know.

Excellent book -- upended everything I ever learned about pre-Columbian America, including the Thanksgiving story.

pretty good. interesting ideas. kidna long winded as some academic based writing can be, still a good read though.
