This book will chill you to the marrow. Read it and watch the news with a new consciousness. Bobbitt may seem detached, but he is simply discussing the law, the nature of today's world in objective terms. I do not typically read modern political science, but I fought my way through this book and The Shield of Achilles because it is worth it.

Another excellent book by this author. I should have majored in Political Science.

Good argument that changes in global politics from nation states to market states involve changes in war strategies and require preemptive legislation to create laws anticipating natural and terrorist disasters in order to protect the rule of law.

An impressive tome on the changing state of the global world we all live in and the new type of threats that face it.

A fascinating and thought-provoking tome. I'm only a couple of chapters in but it's already changed the way I see the battle between Islamism and the West. Everybody should read this book. Terrifying.
