Seems like Ms. Rice as finally found her voice in this new genre of writing for her.

Rice is back with another fictional work of exceptional quality! This time the main character is a contract killer who gets a visit from some angels. Check this out! I'll let you know more when I'm done.

Good book. Anne Rice does not disappoint.

It was alright. There were kind of two stories going on. The main character's past and his present mission. I very much enjoyed the past story, the other half of the book I could've done without. At the end there is a hint of the past story again, which makes me want to read the next book, but not really...

I finally get Anne Rice's genre. Having never read any of the vampire books, I did not have a clue. I read her two books about Christ, but they were mainly historical fiction/Christian fiction, in which the life of Christ is filled out with historical details about the culture and place in which He was born and lived. Then I read her book about her return to the Catholic faith. This one was mostly narrative of her childhood and little about her spiritual awakening. On to Angel Time. If you read her biographical reflection on her return to the Catholic Church, you will see the main character's youth was based on Anne's own childhood in New Orleans. Angle Time is fundamentally a thriller and very clearly the beginning of new series. However, this series will be populated with angels, priests, monks, etc., but probably no vampires.   hide

A wonderful treat for Anne Rice fans new and old....Anne Rice has found a new hero/new storyline that combines her gift for recreating the 'the past' and her desire to write Christian following the conclusion of her Vampire Chronicles and Lives of the Mayfair Witches. Toby O'Dare is a character full of potential and the premise is a goldmine for both the author and her fans. If you gave up on...more

A wonderful treat for Anne Rice fans new and old....Anne Rice has found a new hero/new storyline that combines her gift for recreating the 'the past' and her desire to write Christian following the conclusion of her Vampire Chronicles and Lives of the Mayfair Witches. Toby O'Dare is a character full of potential and the premise is a goldmine for both the author and her fans. If you gave up on Anne Rice with her Christ the Lord series-I encourage you to noy only give these books a chance, but to indilge in Angel Time as well.... a wonderful read and a delightful tease of ' more to come'.   hide

As expected, this story was engrossing! I borrowed it from the library on Monday; by Wednesday, I was turning the last page. As a practicing Catholic, I was a bit bothered by the absence of certain sacramental elements in this redemption story(Lucky really should have gone to Confession at some point, Anne)but the tale was not diminished by the lack. I liked the creative use of the character...more
